The
rules of today's office attire have changed, but the
rules of appropriate appearance have not. No matter
what your business, everyone benefits from clothing
and accessories maintaining a certain level of professionalism.
The correct professional image will increase personal
confidence, increase perception of one's capability
and credibility, and improve social interaction.
Brown's
is happy to help every step of way, whether providing
advice on appropriate business attire, or providing
the perfect weekend outfit for play. Brown's is a founding
member of the "Back to Business" association.
This commitee is a national organization devoted to
provide Canadians with information necessary to forster
professional style in the work place. This reduces the
risk of confusion and enhances individual work ethics.
If
you are responsible for your workplace's dress code,
we want to help. We are available to co-sponsor and
host company seminars, meetins and speaking engagements.
Our experienced wardrobe consultants can meet with you
or your Human Resources department to arrange an event.
There is absolutely no charge for this service. Many
companies have found this to be an excellent way to
educate staff members.

Tailored
The tailored suit has a defined shoulder line, fitted
chest and slightly suppressed waist. The jacket is generally
finger-tip length and the same-fabric trousers feature
diagonal side pockets and a pressed centre crease. The
suit's precise, clean lines make it a formal businesswear
option calculated to command respect.
Softly
Tailored
The "soft" suit or sports jacket is designed
to look and feel as comfortable as possible, and to
allow for the layering of clothes underneath. Traditional
internal canvas and padding have therefore been reduced
or removed completely and defining lines left to a minimum,
giving the garment a sort of soft-focus tailored impression.
It's a signal to others that they may be less formal
with you in their business dealings.
Soft
Casual
The tailored ensemble is replaced by a combination of
quietly coloured knit pieces and a relaxed pair of dress-cut
trousers, all of which may or may not be topped by an
outerwear-style jacket. Since a certain sense of artistry
is required to put together such an individualistic
grouping of coordinates their wearer is viewed as someone
most at home in artistic endeavours.
Casual
An un-structured outfit that relies heavily on single
knits, shackets or woven shirts topping a nondescript
pair of pants. The wearer of such attire is indicating
to others that he has no time to waste on appearances,
and would rather concentrate on things he finds more
interesting.
